The facts about the BMW iPod interface.

Required are a third-generation iPod, iPod mini or iPod nano along with a BMW Radio. For operation via the steering wheel, a multi-function steering wheel is required. The iPod interface for the BMW 3 Series (up to 03/05), BMW X3, BMW X5 and BMW Z4 allows you to play all stored tracks or five individual playlists, controlled using the multi-function steering wheel or the BMW Radio. The BMW iPod interface for the BMW 1 Series and BMW 3 Series (models from 03/05 onwards) additionally offers access to the entire iPod music collection as well as a selection of genres, artists, albums and any amount of playlists.
