The BMW X1 xDrive23d features the world's first four-cylinder diesel engine with Variable Twin Turbo. Two different-sized turbochargers are deployed sequentially to deliver blistering power right across the rev range. This translates to a powerful 150 kW (204 hp) and maximum torque of 400 Nm from just 2,000 rpm.
At low revs, the small turbocharger works on its own to provide instantaneous throttle response. Third-generation common rail injection in the BMW X1 sDrive18d, xDrive18d, sDrive20d and xDrive20d ensures exceptional performance (up to 130 kW or 177 hp) in hand with unbeatable fuel consumption levels (starting at 5.2 l/100 km). The impressive result: The X1 sDrive20d EfficientDynamics has an average fuel consumption level of 4.5 l/100 km and CO2 emissions of 119 g/km at a dynamic 120 kW (163 hp). The diesel engines in the BMW X1 meet the EU5 emissions standard.
Combined fuel consumption: 4.5 to 6.3 l/100 km
Combined CO2 emissions: 119 to 167 g/km
All engines meet the EU5 emissions standard.
