BMW X5 : Diesel engines

Diesel engines.

Sophisticated power and outstanding efficiency: these are the hallmarks of the BMW diesel engines. Choose between the two straight six-cylinder engines: the xDrive40d and the xDrive30d.

More

The diesel engine in the xDrive40d impresses with BMW TwinPower Turbo technology as well as 225 kW (306 hp) and maximum torque of 600 Nm. Thanks to the variable nozzle turbocharger – a BMW innovation – the xDrive40d delivers exceptional levels of performance. From 0 to 100 km/h in just 6.6 seconds and a top speed of 236 km/h. Combined with common rail direct injection, this gives impressively low consumption values of 7.5 l/100 km with CO2 emissions of only 198 g/km.

The dynamic straight six-cylinder engine with 3.0 litres capacity in the xDrive30d produces an impressive 180 kW to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 7.6 seconds. Top torque of up to 540 Nm powers the engine at maximum efficiency: the xDrive30d requires just 7.4 litres of diesel per 100 kilometres making it the most efficient engine in its class.
