BMW Night Vision.

Safer nighttime driving. BMW Night Vision, an innovation from BMW ConnectedDrive, can see in the dark and warns the driver of any approaching danger that is located outside of the range of the headlights.

An infrared camera positioned in the BMW kidney grille reveals objects up to 300 metres ahead of the vehicle. Pedestrians and cyclists are identified and highlighted on the Control Display. Three processors simultaneously calculate all movements outside of the vehicle and the course of the BMW 5 Series Touring. In potentially dangerous situations, an acoustic signal and a visual warning sign immediately make the driver aware of the problem so he can react in a timely manner.
