The improvements are evolutionary as each one of the three technologies has been developed further. What is revolutionary however is how they compliment one another. In the BMW TwinPower Turbo in the BMW 335i they are combined in one complete package. The result: 225 kW (306 hp), 400 Nm across a wide speed range and silky smoothness. And all this at a fuel consumption level of just 8.8 l/100 km.
The straight six-cylinder petrol engine in the 325i and 330i boast a maximum power output of 160 or 200 kW (218/272 hp). The 325i completes the zero-to-100 km/h sprint in just 7.6 seconds, and the 330i takes a mere 6.5 seconds. Both models are characterised by refined power development plus excellent fuel efficiency.
With it's lightweight aluminium construction, the four-cylinder petrol engine of the 320i goes about it’s work with astonishing efficiency. Impressive engine performance 125 kW (170 hp), ensure ample forward thrust, while direct petrol injection and valve control with twin Vanos keep average fuel consumption low. The BMW 320i manages on 6.8 litres per 100 kilometres.
