The design and idea behind the first-ever BMW M2 Coupé stem from the historical roots of BMW M GmbH. The vehicle combines top sporting prowess and classic rear-wheel drive with the precision and agility of a modern M automobile. Characteristic front and rear aprons optimise air flow and aerodynamics. The sportily attuned suspension and a powerful M TwinPower Turbo inline 6-cylinder petrol engine ensure breathtaking performance.

DRIVING DYNAMICS & EFFICIENCY.

Manual 6-speed transmission or M double-clutch transmission with Drivelogic, Active M Differential and spontaneous acceleration with up to 500 Nm across a wide rev range – undeniable characteristics of a full-blown sportsman in the classic BMW M GmbH tradition.

Racing characteristics.

The driving sensation in the BMW M2 Coupé is based on highly developed technology that was tested under the most extreme conditions possible. The result is an authentic driving experience only offered by M Automobiles: with nearly 50:50 axle load distribution, an outstanding chassis and equipment with racing capabilities.

7-speed M DCT with Drivelogic.

Shift gears without losing power, using the clutch or slowing down: the 7-speed M double-clutch transmission with Drivelogic. Gears can be changed automatically or manually using the gearshift paddles on the steering wheel, or the gear lever. Launch Control guarantees maximum acceleration from a standing start.

Active M Differential.

The Active M Differential variably distributes the drive torque between the two rear wheels to optimise traction and driving stability when accelerating out of bends or on difficult road surfaces. It provides perfect handling without any power waste under situations of extreme acceleration .

M compound brakes.

The technology behind M compound brakes comes from the world of motorsport, allowing them to maintain constant effectiveness and brake-fade stabilisation, even under demanding usage. The use of various highly resilient materials results in excellent thermal stability, long-term durability and precise braking. It also reduces the weight of the brakes, which has a positive effect on agility, dynamics, acceleration and fuel consumption.
The perforated, ventilated brake disc rings (front 380 mm, rear 370 mm) with four-piston fixed callipers at the front and two-piston fixed callipers at the rear ensure optimal responsiveness in wet conditions and improve heat dissipation. The Blue metallic brake callipers with the characteristic M logo strongly emphasise the brake discs' sporty appearance and distinctive M design.

DESIGN.

The design of the BMW M2 Coupé is the embodiment of pure power and dynamics. The sporty coupé line, the muscular shape and the cockpit with authentic racetrack details underscore the vehicle’s athletic presence.

Fuel consumption and CO2 emissions for the BMW M2 Coupé:

Fuel consumption in l/100 km (combined): 8.5 to 7.9
